The easiest website fixes

Posted by Dave CollinsWebsite Optimisation

Here’s something that anyone with a website can use.

Better still, you could use some of these ideas on your own website in literally a few minutes.

With nothing to download, nothing to install and nothing to buy.

I’ve put together a very short video that highlights some of the most common mistakes that websites make in three areas:

The first impression.

The headline.

The navigation.

Every website that I’ve ever come across uses (or misuses) all three.

And for each category I’ve chosen three examples: the good, the bad and the ugly.

The video is less than seven minutes long – so there’s no time for small talk.

But it’s sometimes a little brutal.

My advice: watch each section, pause it, then take a look at your own website and ask yourself the following questions:

1 – If your website had been chosen, which category would it fall into? Good, bad or ugly.

2 – How could you make your website better?

Seven minutes is all you need.
